2008 Winter Carnival of Magic Friday Evening
This year Ring58 made arrangements for guests of the Winter Carnival of Magic to attend a special presentation of Magic Beyond Believe. The show is hosted in the Magic Beyond Belief Theatre, the home of Terry Evanswood. Terry has been performing in Pigeon Forge for many years, but has had his own theatre for just under a year now. During the intermission, Ring58 president Ed Ripley presented current IBM President Phil Willmarth and Terry Evanswood with honorary lifetime memberships in Ring58.
While a handful of people enjoyed a backstage tour with Terry at the Magic Beyond Belief Theatre, several more returned to the Country Tonight Theatre for a late lecture with David Williamson. Those that chose to call it a night early will never know what they missed. You had to be there to believe it. David started by placing a table on the stairs so EVERYONE could see him perform the world's most impossible coin matrix which required the hands of three spectators. We're not sure how, but one of the spectators wound up wrapped up in the table clothe with silks appearing from previously uncharted territory. The crowd hardly stopped laughing as David demonstrated salt pours with thumb tips, torn and restored cards, and a cups and balls routine. The kicker and closer for the evening was David's personal recount of performing a pencil through coin trick for David Copperfield and Siegfried and Roy. You have to hear it from him!
