Winter Carnival of Magic Contest Information

It's time again to sign up for the 2010 Winter Carnival of Magic Competitions. Last year's competitions were a huge success and we plan on repeating the same format this year.

• Time Limit: 8 minutes per act
• Number of Contestants: 10 total (with 2 alternates at discretion of contest chairman)
• Entry Fee: $10 per contestant/act
• Monetary Prize: 1st place only, $100
• Trophies: Awarded for 1st and 2nd place
• Restrictions: Any pyrotechic effects (including fire, flash paper, etc.) must be pre-approved by the contest chairman. Additionally, any extra needs (especially for stage contestants) must be clearly defined to the contest chairman and are subject to approval from the WCM Convention Chairman and/or the Country Tonite Theater. Any other special need or request should be addressed in advance of registering for the contest.
• Scoring: See the following documents for the scoring sheets and process. Please note that we are currently revising the scoring process and it is subject to change (with notification). All contest rules, scoring, and other information will be reviewed in person at the WCM.

Please note: The Winter Carnival of Magic reserves the right to change the contest rules and requirements at any time. In the event that a significant change is made, you will have the right to back out of the contest and be refunded your entry fee.

Important Note: All potential contestants must first be registered attend the 2010 Winter Carnival of Magic through the Country Tonite Theater and provide their confirmation number to the contest chairman. Additionally, you are not considered to be signed up until you receive a confirmation of entry from the contest chairman.

Your information will be submitted, but depending on the number of responses received, you may or may not be added to the available slots for the competition. You will receive an email letting you know your position on the list. All competitors will be required to provide the $10 entry fee to the contest chairman upon request.
