December - Meeting in the gym - December 8, 7:00pm

Once again this year we will be having a holiday get together at our December meeting. Guests are welcome to attend and participate in the fun, but we will have a business meeting prior to the festivities. Please bring a finger food (nothing that requires untensils) to share with 10 other people. This year we will have four ring members performing in a special stage show to start off the evening. After the stage show, we will conduct the dirty magician gift swap. If you wish to participate, bring a wrapped gift that cost between $5 and $10. Remember that someone is going to go home with the item that you bring. We ask that you avoid the cheap plastic effects that you can obtain at the dollar store.

Theme: Begins with "s"

Activity: Ring Member Magic Swap Meet

For those that are interested in discussing the Winter Carnival of Magic, the meeting will start at 6:00pm. Our regular business meeting will start at 7:00. After the business meeting, we will be stuffing envelopes for the Winter Carnival. All hands are needed to make this task go quickly!

The meeting theme is "Begins with 's'"... What begins with "s"? you might ask. Could be the name of your effect (scotch and soda), might be the name of the person that markets your effect (Slydini), could even be the name of the props you are using (silk, string, silver, sponge), what else can you think of? The fun in this is seeing how you make your performance fit the theme.

Ring Member Magic Swap Did you get too much magic for Christmas this year?... of course not, there is not such thing, but maybe you got something you already have or maybe you upgraded. Whatever your reasons, it is time to do a little new years cleaning. Each member is allowed to bring a box of items to sell, trade, or gift away after the member performances. We will be utalizing the table space in the upper level of the annex. While large items are allowed, please be respectful of your fellow members and the time and space constraints we will have. Please do not bring more items than you can carry in a single load or two.

Theme: The Number "3"

For those that are interested in discussing the Winter Carnival of Magic, the meeting will start at 6:00pm. Our regular business meeting will start at 7:00. After the business meeting, we will be stuffing bags for the Winter Carnival. All hands are needed to make this task go quickly!

The meeting theme is "The Number 3". For some reason it seems to be human nature for things to occur in threes. Many jokes have three of something involved. Magic effects are repeated three times with different results. This month's theme is about the number 3. Need some ideals? How about 3-card monte or 3-shell game? An effect with 3 sponge balls or 3 coins... how many cups do you use in your cups and balls routine? Again the fun is in figuring out what unique way you can make your magic fit the theme.
