An old time magician (Vito Cerruti) moved to Oak Ridge from Nashville in 1987 and started a magic club of youngsters in his home. In February 1988, one of the youngsters, who attended church where we attended, invited me to their second meeting. Over time others joined the group and the rebirth of IBM Ring 58 eventually evolved. Background: I'm one of the old timers of the Ring. I was born and raised outside of Nashville and will be 74 this year. I've been a member of Ring 58 since it's rebirth (late 60s). I am a retired Chemical Engineer/Program Manager (U.S. Department of Energy). A gradate of Tennessee Tech. Other hobbies: photography and computers. My wife Julia (Judy) is an associate member. We live in Oak Ridge but we have a retirement home in Florida, where we spend the winter months. I am a member of Ring 303 in Fort Myers, FL. I'm proud to say that I have attended and have been involved in all 34 of our Winter Carnival of Magic conventions. For a number of years I was active in performing shows for children but I'm now mostly retired although I occasionally give shows for small groups of friends or relatives. I try to attend 3 or 4 conventions each year.
